Operations Group

We have an informal group that meets once a month, except for July and August.  We usually meet on Wednesday nights.  There are three key layouts that we operate on; Craig's Rio Grande Southern Railroad, Matt's Sumat Northern Railroad and Doug's Rock Mountain Railroad.  Each of us takes a turn hosting so that we rotate among our layouts.  There is always the same five operators but we often invite other enthusiasts to join us.

To keep things simple, we have standardized on the same operations program and we all use Easy DCC for controlling our railraods.  We've found this approach to be not only effective for our needs but helps to get our operators orientated with the way the railway is run.

As our group is maturing we are starting to branch out to other operations groups.  We have hosted out of town operators and have travelled to be guests of others.  We've found this comradery to be a very enjoyable aspect of the hobby.
