On the weekend of September 21 thru 23, 2007 we had the privilege of hosting a group of modellers from the Twin Cities and Duluth, Minnesota. Scott McLeod, Joe Herrick, Bill Jolitz, Dick Jorgenson, Glen Olsen and Don Dass made the trek up to Thunder Bay for a jam-packed weekend of railroading. The weekend started with an amazing tour of the local Bombardier plant where they build bi-level and other custom commuter cars. Later, we moved on to a night of operating at the Sumat Northern. Saturday was spent touring the city, operating at the Rock Mountain Railroad, having a fabulous dinner at the Prospector restaurant, and running the Rio Grande Southern late into the night. On the Sunday morning the group finished up a great weekend with a nice breakfast at the Hoito restaurant and still more operating at the Rio Grande Southern. Everyone was tired, yet pumped right up after such a great weekend. We set a personal record of 15 hours of operating sessions in a single weekend. We can't wait to do it again!
