High Side Gondola Number 1258

General Information

This gondola is in generally good shape. The most interesting part of the car is the floor, which has a large wooden patch at the "A" end. The inside corner plates deviate from the norm slightly, with the "B" end bottom plates being two boards high on the right side of the car and a single board high on the left, while the "A" end has double plates on both sides. Remember the right and left sides of a freight car are determined by facing the car at the "B" end. Variations in the corner plate arrangement are common throughout the gondola fleet. The rest of the car is pretty normal.
