High Side Gondola Number 1456

General Information

This car sports one of the more unusual hardware combinations found on the high side gondolas. On the right side, the cars has the typical u-bolt and plate stake pockets, but on the left, the stake pockets are the original cast versions. This is the only car that I am aware of that that uses two different styles of stake pockets. This car is also equipped with the trapezoidal striker plate group, long formed side support brackets, and the built-up, box car like truck bolsters. There are also a number of metal patches on the floor.
